Francis King, 80
CLARKSBURG, Mass. — Francis King, 80, of 716 Daniels Road died Friday, Dec. 9, 2011, at North Adams Regional Hospital.
Born in North Adams on Dec. 20, 1930, son of James W. and Ellen Hughes King, he attended Drury High School.
An Army veteran, he served in the Korean War.
Mr. King was last employed by Excelsior Process & Engraving in North Adams until his retirement in 1985. Before that, he worked at Byam Printing Co.
He was a communicant of the former St. Francis of Assisi Church in North Adams. He was a member of Peter Cook VFW Post 914, Frank R. Stiles Post 125 American Legion in NOrth Adams and Disabled American Veterans.
He and his wife, the former Theresa Janet Contois, were married on May 30, 1953, in the former Notre Dame Church in North Adams.
Besides his wife, he leaves two sons, Wayne F. King and his wife, Luanne, of Stratham, N.H., and Gary M. King and his wife, Rebecca, of the town of Florida; two brothers, Harold "Bob" King of Clarksburg and William King of Chicopee; four grandchildren, Nicolette, Kara, Logan and Sara, and nieces and nephews.
Two sisters and three brothers are deceased: Catherine Felix, Marie Rohane and James, Vincent and Donald King.
FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral for Mr. King will be held Tuesday, Dec. 13, at 11 a.m. from Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Tuesday morning from 9 to 11 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Clarksburg Volunteer Fire Department or Friends of Renal Dialysis at Berkshire Medical Center in care of the funeral home.
