Samuel Delmolino, 82

ADAMS, Mass. — Samuel Delmolino, 82, of 71 Melrose St. died Saturday, Jan. 21, 2012, at North Adams Commons. Born in Adams on March 4, 1929, son of Simone and Clementina Delmolino Delmolino, he attended schools in Cheshire and Adams and graduated from the former Adams High School. He also graduated from the Stockbridge School of Agriculture at the University of Massachusetts. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Delmolino was last employed with his son, Lyle D. Delmolino, at the American Vision Center in the Berkshire Mall. Before that, he had been employed by Steinerfilm in Williamstown and as a police officer for the town of Adams for 20 years. After his retirement, he worked at General Dynamics in Pittsfield and was a volunteer at North Adams Regional Hospital. In his younger years, he worked in golf course construction. He enjoyed speaking Italian, cooking Italian food, gardening and trips to Italy. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He was an avid New England Patriots fan. His wife, the former His wife, the former Dawn Enright, whom he married on May 26, 1962, died on Sept. 18, 2004., whom he married on May 26, 1962, died on Sept. 18, 2004. Besides his son and daughter-in-law, Laura, of Adams, he leaves two stepdaughters, Judith Storr of Utah and Deborah Trudeau of Albany, N.Y.; two sisters, Marion Czarnick and Elsie Asdikian and her husband, Walter, all of Adams; seven grandchildren, Samuel Delmolino, Joseph Delmolino, Colin Ayotte, Chandler Ayotte, Corinne Hale, Coressa Addair and Ashley Sherman; several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and his close friends and neighbors Bill and Bev Wood. FUNERAL NOTICE — Calling hours for Mr. Delmolino will be Wednesday, Jan. 25, from 4 to 7 at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams. Burial will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to North Adams Regional Hospital in care of the funeral home. His family would like to thank the staff of North Adams Commons and North Adams Regional Hospital for their loving care in Mr. Delmolino's final days.
