Mary Anne Canales, 80
HANCOCK, Mass. - Mary Anne Canales, 80, of 2258 Hancock Road died Thursday, Feb. 23, 2012, at the Sweet Brook Care Centers in Williamstown.
Born in Williamstown on March 9, 1931, a daughter of Octave Henry and May Elizabeth Whalen Richardson, she moved with her family as a child to Clarksburg, where she attended school. They later returned to Williamstown, where she graduated from Williamstown High School with the class of 1950.
Mrs. Canales was employed as second cook at Sweet Brook Nursing Home from 1976 to 1995. She earlier had worked at the former the Cornish Wire Co. and then part time at the former Dox Drugs until 1971.
She was a communicant of the Parish of Sts. Patrick and Raphael. She was devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She loved spending time with her family, friends and nieces and nephews.
She and her husband, Rudolph "Ruby" Canales, were married Aug. 31, 1954.
Besides her husband, she leaves a daughter, Paula Marie Liuzzi and her husband, Ron, of Hancock; a son, Rudolph Allen Canales of Hancock; her sisster and best friend, Rose Mary Garrison of Bennington, Vt.; four grandchildren, Atara, Savannah, R.J. and Rudi-Nicole, and a great-grandchild, Maleek.
She was predeceased by her brothers William and Edward Richardson.
FUNERAL NOTICE - Funeral services for Mrs. Canales will take place Monday, Feb. 27, at 7 p.m. from Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams. Burial will take place in the spring in the family plot in Hancock Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Monday from 4 until the time of the service at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested for Alzheimer's Association through the funeral home.
