Catherine LaBombard, 87
STAMFORD, Vt. — Catherine Mary LaBombard, 87, of Muskego, Wisc., formerly of Stamford, died Saturday, March 3, 2012, at Waukesha Springs Rehabilitation and Nursing Home in Waukesha, Wisc.
Born in North Adams, Mass., on June 8, 1924, daughter of Dominic and Maria Canale Pappas, she attended North Adams schools, including Drury High School. She had been a member of the Fall Foliage Queen's Court.
Mrs. LaBombard worked for many years at the Price Chopper Supermarket in North Adams. Before that, she worked at the former Sprague Electric Co. in North Adams.
She was a communicant of St. John Bosco Church and a member of its St. Ann Society. She was a member of the Berkshire County Line Dancers and enjoyed knitting, singing, and dancing. She was a devoted homemaker to her family.
Her husband, Eldridge T. LaBombard, whom she married on Nov. 9, 1946, died on Oct. 13, 1991.
She leaves two daughters, Sheridan Anne Bernasconi of North Adams and Carla Funk of Muskego, Wisc.; a brother, Dominick Papas of Adams; a sister, Mary Valenti of Pittsfield; three grandchildren, Keith Bernasconi, Bryan Bernasconi and Kaila Funk, three great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Her siblings Theresa Sukel, Frances O'Brien, Genevieve Champagne, Rose Morocco, Josephine Jacquot, James Pappas, and Joseph Pappas predeceased her.
FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral for Mrs. LaBombard will be Friday, March 9, at 9:30 a.m. from Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will be in the spring in Millard Cemetery in Stamford.
