George W. Landry, 86
ADAMS, Mass. — George W. Landry, 86, of 40 Commercial St. died Monday, March 12, 2012, at Sweet Brook Care Centers in Williamstown.
Born in Adams on Sept. 23, 1925, a son of Hubert and Aldea Filiault Landry, he attended schools in Adams.
A decorated Army veteran of World War II, he was involved in five major campaigns including the Battle of the Bulge and the Crossing of the Rhine.
Mr. Landry was employed as a mixologist at the former Mohawk Hotel.
He was an avid billiard player.
His wife, the former Julia Busby, whom he married Sept. 26, 1970, died Aug. 24, 2006.
He leaves two sons, Gary Landry and Peter Landry, of Missouri; two daughters, Beverly Lakin and Janice Boyer, also of Missouri; two sisters, Jeanne Patricia Trabold of the state of Florida and Emma Lawson of Pittsfield; seven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
His brothers Oliva, Hector and Leon Landry and sister Emma Lawson predeceased him.
FUNERAL NOTICE — Private graveside services for Mr. Landry will take place at the family plot in Clarksburg Cemetery in the springtime. Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., is in charge of arrangements.
