Lena A. Codogni, 92
READSBORO, Vt. - Lena A. Codogni, 92, of 116 East Main St. died Sunday, April 29, 2012, at North Adams (Mass.) Regional Hospital.
Born in North Adams on May 31, 1919, daughter of Paul and Olympia Andreatta Vicari, she attended North Adams schools and graduated from Drury High School.
Primarily a homemaker, Mrs. Codogni was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved being at home, cooking for her family, tending her garden, and knitting for the area church bazaars.
She was a communicant of St. Joachim's Church and a member of its St. Anne's Society. She was also a member of the Ladies' Auxiliary of the Readsboro Post 29 American Legion.
Her husband, Peter J. Codogni, whom she married on Sept. 1, 1947, died on July 7, 2006.
She leaves a daughter, Nancy Bushika and her husband, James, of Stamford; a son, Richard Codogni and his wife, Carolyn, of Readsboro; a sister, Sarah Tomasini of Adams, Mass.; five grandchildren, Adam Codogni and Caraline Codogni of Readsboro, Emilie Codogni of Boston, Daryl Bushika and his wife, Heidi, of Schodack, N.Y., and Wesley Bushika and his wife, Pia, of Douglas, Mass.; five great-grandchildren, Mia, Jenna, Sophia, Carla and Jocelyn, and nieces and nephews.
Her siblings Alfred Vicari and Dalia Zappula predeceased her.
FUNERAL NOTICE - A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Mrs. Codogni will be celebrated Friday, May 4, at 11 in St. Joachim's Church in Readsboro. Burial will follow in Village Cemetery.
There will be no calling hours; the omission of flowers is requested. Memorial contributions may be made to the Readsboro American Legion Ladies' Auxiliary, St. Anne's Society of St. Joachim's Church or the Readsboro Fire Department Rescue Squad in care of Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, MA 01247.
