Bernard E. Meehan Sr., 72
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Bernard Edward Meehan Sr., 72, of 1095 Mohawk Trail died Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012, at North Adams Regional Hospital.
Born in North Adams on March 30, 1940, son of George and Irene Boulerice Meehan, he graduated from St. Joseph's High School.
He was an Army veteran.
Mr. Meehan was last employed by Cascade School Supplies.
He was an avid sportsman, played in the men's softball league until age 65 and was an avid New York Yankees fan.
He leaves three sons, Bernard E. "Jay" Meehan Jr. and his wife, Nancy, Jeffrey Meehan and Kevin Meehan, all of North Adams; two sisters, Clarice LaCroix of North Adams and Geraldine Haring of Adams; six grandchildren, Allison, Connor, Jamie, Ryan, Nicholas and Lillian, nieces, nephews and his longtime companion, Sharon Wheeler.
His brothers Philip, Richard and Ronald Meehan predeceased him.
FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral for Mr. Meehan will be Thursday, Nov. 1, at 11 at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams. Burial will be at a later date.
Calling hours will be Thursday morning from 9 to 11 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to VNA & Hospice of Northern Berkshire in care of the funeral home.
