Wahconah Regional High School graduated 134 seniors during exercises dedicated to the school's first principal: Jacob "Jack" Franklin.
Principal Aaron Robb asked the packed gymnasium on Sunday afternoon to take a moment to think of Franklin, who passed away May 28 at the age of 98.
Nearly 75 percent of those voting in the Central Berkshire Regional School District on Saturday cast ballots to move the district forward in the process of renovating or replacing Wahconah Regional High School.
A guided tour of Wahconah Regional High School is being set for this Saturday morning, Jan. 7, to give the community an understanding of the needs and limitations of the 55-year-old building.
The school was invited by the Massachusetts School Building Authority in July to enter the agency's eligibility phase. During this phase, the Central Berkshire Regional School District will vote on funding a feasibility study that will recommend a long-term solution for the school building.
Participating youth were asked to think about where they see themselves in nine months, and create an art piece which reflects that. Every participant submitted a piece that represented their hopes and dreams for the future.
The Apollonian Players will present the musical "Annie Get Your Gun" featuring the musical score of Irving Berlin.
The first showing in Friday night at 7 p.m. There is also a matinee at 1 p.m. on Saturday, and another showing at 7 p.m. Saturday night.
Along with reading, 'riting and 'rithmetic, students at Mount Greylock and Wahconah regional high schools this spring are going to focus on a fourth "r": the real world.
