The Animal Control Commission voted to euthanize two Dartmouth Street dogs after a man's encounter with them required surgery.
Euthanization was kept off the table for both dogs but they were ordered to be muzzled and leashed.
The Select Board appointed Levi Lisi as animal control officer and Richard Haley as the assistant animal control officer at Monday night's meeting.
Police Chief K. Scott Kelley said he had been approached by both Cheshire and Savoy about a shared animal control officer. He said Animal Control Officer Kimberly Witek is more than qualified to handle the work.
