Fall Foliage Festival Sets $50K Fundraising Goal

- August 08, 2007

2007 Fall Foliage Parade and Festival Kickoff

North Adams – The 52nd annual Fall Foliage Festival Parade is rapidly taking shape. Organized by the Berkshire Chamber of Commerce, the parade will take place on Sunday, Sept. 30, beginning at 1 p.m. The theme is “Transportation: Then & Now.” The transportation theme evokes a lot of ideas, from horse and carriage to space - age travel, cars, trains, trolleys, busses, maybe even ballooning!

This huge annual, colorful celebration only happens through the generous support of the entire community. By helping reach the $50,000 fundraising goal, once again the best professional bands and marching units can be brought to downtown North Adams.

Most of the parade funding comes from area corporate sponsors and city and state grants but individual private donations are also vitally important to the parade’s success. The Fall Foliage Festival Committee is optimistic that this year the fundraising goal of $50,000 can be reached.

Many popular favorites will be among the 3,000-plus participants returning to march the 2 1/2-mile route down Curran Highway and State Street, past the Main Street reviewing stand to Ashland Street. To date, parade entries include both high school and professional bands and various marching units.

To support this year’s parade, send donations to the Berkshire Chamber of Commerce, 6 West Main St., North Adams, MA 01247. Checks should be made payable to the Berkshire Chamber of Commerce. For more information, visit www.fallfoliageparade.com or call (413)499-4000.
