15th Annual Berkshire Humane Society Horse Show - August 22, 2007
LENOX - The 15th annual Berkshire Humane Society Horse Show will be held Sunday, Aug. 26, at Overmeade Farm, 940 East St. The event begins at 9 a.m.
The show is recognized by the Western Massachusetts Professional Horseman’s Association (and includes competitions for all levels of riding. The show hosts hunter, equitation and jumper divisions.
It will feature 40 hunter and equitation classes in 13 divisions. The equitation divisions include: short stirrup, mini, adult, limit and open. The hunter divisions include: novice junior, low/adult, children’s and junior/amateur. Jumper and open pleasure divisions will also be offered.
Since its inception, this event has raised more than $120,000 for Berkshire Humane Society. The society is the only open-admission shelter serving Berkshire County and surrounding areas of Vermont, New York and Connecticut.
In addition to adoption and surrender services, the organization provides education and community outreach programs. The programs help approximately 2,000 animals each year. BHS is a non-profit organization with 501[C](3) status.
