Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts recently welcomed a number of new staff to a variety of positions for the upcoming academic year.
They include the following:
Heather Audette joined MCLA’s residence program and services department as resident director of the Flagg Townhouses. She comes to the College from Assumption College in Worcester, where she was a resident director. She earned her Master’s degree in counseling/psychology and her Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Assumption College in Worcester.
Marjorie Belizaire ’06 joined the MCLA Office of Admission staff as the new coordinator of multicultural tecruitment. Belizaire, who is working on her Master’s degree at MCLA, previously worked as an office assistant in the President’s Office at the College. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in history from MCLA in 2006.
Teddy Bourgeois ’07 joined the Admissions Office as an admissions counselor. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in English from MCLA in ’07. At the College, he served as the arts and entertainment editor at the Beacon, as a program facilitator, a freshmen orientation leader and a teaching assistant.
William Mannix Jr. joined the administration and finance department as a clerk. He comes to the College from Arrow Press in Pittsfield, where he was a customer service representative. He has a Bachelor’s degree in business administration/management from UMass-Amherst.
Marcus Morandi ’90 joined MCLA’s office of alumni and development as the advancement operations officer. He comes to the College from Berkshire Qualified Plans Inc., where he served as president and a pension consultant. Morandi earned his Master’s degree from Western New England College in Springfield, and his Bachelor of Science degree in computer science from MCLA in 1990.
Jamie Morrison joined the Athletics Department as MCLA’s men’s head basketball coach and assistant sports information director. He comes to the College from Haskell Indian Nations University in Lawrence, Kansas, where he was the head coach for four seasons. He earned a Master’s degree in education at Temple University in Philadelphia, Penn., and a Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology and a certificate in Native American Studies from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
Allison Page joined MCLA’s public safety office as a campus police officer. She comes to the College from Highland Ambulance in Goshen, where she served as an emergency medical technician. She earned an Associate’s degree in criminal justice from Greenfield Community College.
Emily Schiavoni joined MCLA’s Residence Program and Services Department as resident director of Hoosac Hall. She comes to MCLA from Keene State College in Keene, N.H., where she was a resident assistant. Schiavoni earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in studio arts from Keene State College. MONTPELIER, Vt. -- Four Vermont pitchers combined to strike out 11 and allow four hits Tuesday as the Mountaineers beat the North Adams SteepleCats, 11-0, in New England Collegiate Baseball League action.
Evan Meier, Bobby Stang, Tonny Woodie and Chris Diaz each had a hit for the SteepleCats, who used five pitchers in the loss.
North Adams (0-2) comes home Tuesday to host the Mystic Schooners at 6:30 p.m. at Joe Wolfe Field.
Cassidy Flynn scattered five hits in a complete-game effort in the circle as Lenox upset top-seeded Hoosac Valley, 3-2, in the quarter-finals of the Division 5 State Tournament. click for more
Brayden Durant struck out seven and walked one in a complete-game effort on the mound Saturday to pitch the Drury baseball team to a 6-0 win over Keefe Tech in the quarter-finals of the Division 5 State Tournament at Joe Wolfe Field. click for more
