BCC to Offer New Diversity Workshop

- September 27, 2007

PITTSFIELD - Berkshire Community College will hold a diversity workshop designed to teach students how to harness and analyze perceptions and how those perceptions affect their assumptions.

“Mini Workshop in ‘Diversity’ (WKS 2050), will provide participants the opportunity to describe and discuss feelings of privilege and discrimination in groups.

Participants will discuss prejudices and stereotypes and how they relate to or affect judgment. Students will explore seven diversity behaviors and talk about dealing with and celebrating differences as well as similarities.

This workshop is offered twice: Tuesday, Oct. 23, from 6 to 9 p.m. or Tuesday, Nov. 20 from 6 to 9 p.m. The cost is $35 each.
