Workshop Designed to Empower Immigrant Women - October 09, 2007
GREAT BARRINGTON - Volunteers in Medicine will host an immigrant women’s empowerment workshop beginning on Monday, Oct. 15, from 9 to 11 a.m. at 777 Main St., Suite 4. The program will continue each week at the same time through Nov. 19.
"Compartir y Crecer" has been developed as a social support program to provide information and practical tools that address the issues and challenges faced by immigrant women. The program also aims to empower women to seek out the help they need, stand up for their rights, and participate in the civic life of their community.
The workshop is free of charge and will be conducted in both Spanish and English. Advanced registration is required. Child care and transportation may be available upon request. For more information or to enroll, call (413)-717-0791.
