2007-08 Distinguished Lecture Series, “Lessons of the Iraq War”

The Lenox Library will host the first of its 2007-08 Distinguished Lecture Series, “Lessons of the Iraq War”, on Sunday, November 11, 2007 at 4:00pm in the Sedgwick Reading Room of the Lenox Library. The lecture will be presented by retired U.S. Army Colonel and Professor of International Relations at Boston University, Andrew J. Bacevich, who has published dozens of articles and several books on national security, American militarism, and the American empire.

Admission for the lecture is $15. Admission to all four lectures in the series’ inaugural season, organized and hosted by Professor Jeremy Yudkin, is $50. Contact Jenny Rae at the Lenox Library at 413-637-2630 x113 or jrae@lenoxlib.org for further information and reservations.

All series’ lectures are scheduled on Sunday at 4pm at the Lenox Library as follows:

December 16, 2007, “Our Remarkable Constitution: The Oddities and Virtues of the American Constitution” with Professor of History, Daniel Gordon, UMass Amherst.

January 13, 2008, “Mastering Middle-earth: Adventures in Scholarship with J.R.R. Tolkien” with Tolkien scholars Christina Scull and Wayne G. Hammond.

February 10, 2008, “What is the Role of Creativity in the Modern World?” with Dr. Ernest Shaw, psychiatrist, medical consultant, and artist.
