South Adams Savings Opens Lee Branch Office

- November 11, 2007

LEE – South Adams Savings Bank has opened a new banking office at 41 Park St.

"We are very pleased to be opening this new branch, to better serve and support the businesses, communities and people of South County," said Charles O'Brien, president and CEO of South Adams Savings Bank. "The Lee location gives our customers much greater convenience and offers a full service lobby as well as drive-up banking center with Saturday hours. Customers now have access to commercial lenders at this office, as well as amenities including an Internet cafe and a complimentary coffee bar."

The grand opening is Tuesday, Nov. 13, through Saturday, Nov. 17. To mark the grand opening, the bank is giving away free samples of brand-new dollar bills from its vault. On Saturday, the bank will hold a family fun day with popcorn, cotton candy and activities for children. The day will culminate with a drawing of one of the dollar bill serial numbers. The holder of that bill will win $1,000 in cash.

WBEC 95.9FM will be broadcasting from the Lee office all morning and the winning serial number will be drawn live at 11:50 a.m. O'Brien said, "special offers will also be available in this office during the week including a build-your-own CD, special rates on home equity loans, and credits for closing costs on new mortgages."

Branch office hours are Monday through Wednesday and Friday from 8:30 a.n. to 4 p.m., Thursday from 8:30 to 5, and Saturday from 8:30 to noon. The drive-up is open a half hour earlier Monday through Saturday and an hour later Monday through Friday.

Founded in 1869, South Adams is a state-chartered mutual savings bank, serving the residents and businesses of Berkshire and South County from offices in Adams, Cheshire, Lee, and Williamstown. Deposits are insured in full by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. and by the Depositors Insurance Fund. For more information, www.sasavings.com.
