Empire Brass to Play at Troy Savings Music Hall - November 25, 2007
TROY, N.Y. - The Empire Brass — trumpeters Rolf Smedvig and Marc Brian Reese, French horn player Michelle Perry, trombonist Mark Hetzler and tuba player Kenneth Amis — will perform Wednesday, Dec. 19, at 8 p.m. at Troy Savings Bank Music Hall.
Joining Empire Brass for this holiday performance is Douglas Majors, guest organist from the National Cathedral. The program will include "In Dolce Jubilo," "Alleluia," and "Morning Dance" from Prokofiev's "Romeo and Juliet," among other classic pieces.
Empire Brass has performed with such groups as the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Chicago Symphony, Philadelphia Orchestra, New World Symphony and the English Chamber Orchestra and has toured the Far East thirteen times. Its five musicians have served as Faculty Quintet in Residence at Boston University for 13 years and have led the annual Empire Brass seminar at the Boston University Tanglewood Institute for 20 years. They have been featured on CBS's "Good Morning America," NBC's "Today Show" and PBS's "Mr. Roger's Neighborhood." They are also regular guests on commercial public radio networks nationwide including NPR's "Performance Today."
Tickets are $32, $29 and $15 and may be purchased through the box office by calling (518) 273-0038 or online at www.troymusichall.org.
