Two Physicians Join Hospitalist Team At BHS

- December 06, 2007

Dr. Sethi and Dr. Fu
PITTSFIELD - Two new physicians have joined the hospitalist team that provides inpatient care at Berkshire Medical Center and Fairview Hospital, according to the hospitals' parent company, Berkshire Health Systems.

Drs. Ning Fu and Imran Sethi join Drs. Tony Almakdisi, Julie Floyd, Marian Madden, Nana Makalatia, Sukhpal Mann, William DeMarco, a doctor of osteopathic medicine, and physician assistant Jeffrey Terwilliger. Both Fu and Sethi are board certified in internal medicine.

Fu received his medical degree from Beijing Medical University. He completed his internal medicine residency training at Mountainside Hospital in Montclair, N.J. He previously was with Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, a Temple University-affiliated hospital in Johnstown, Pa., at Stony Brook University and Huntington hospitals in New York and China-Japan Friendship Hospital in Beijing.

Sethi received his medical degree from Dow Medical College, University of Karachi in Pakistan, graduating first in his class of more than 500. He completed his internal medicine residency training at Crozier Chester Medical Center in Upland, Pa.

Hospitalists are physicians based full time in hospitals. Because of their focus on inpatient medicine, hospitalists develop expertise in treating hospitalized patients and are available to coordinate care with nurses, medical specialists and other professionals within the institution.

For more information on the hospitalist program at Berkshire Health Systems, call 413-496-6820.
