More Snow
The Berkshires received several inches of snow this morning, but not enough to close schools, unlike yesterday's sleety mess. Temperatures will drop into the 20s this afternoon. A few more snow showers are expected through the weekend. |

New Gallery To Offer Eclectic Mix of Art - December 27, 2007
GREAT BARRINGTON - A new art gallery exhibiting works by artists from the Berkshires and beyond is opening Jan. 12 in Housatonic.
ARTsModerne fills its 9 1/2-by-11 1/2 square feet with an eclectic assortment of contemporary paintings, prints, photography, text-art, box-art, collages and vintage art.
On exhibit now are the small oil paintings of Bob Cronin of Falls Village, Conn., who is able to squeeze great atmosphere out of simple arrangements of objects/people; the somewhat abstract drawings of Franco Pellegrino of West Stockbridge, who uses life's situations both high and low as the source of inspiration, the whimsical box-art-new-art of Sherry Steiner of Housatonic and the art of Alex Zenger of San Francisco, whose approach to painting is influenced by city living.
ARTsModerne is also the headquarters of the Artists and Writers Alliance Internationale, which is dedicated to bringing artists of all genres together from around the world who are interested in collaborating. For more information, go to www.artistsandwritersallianceinternationale.org or e-mail at artistswriters@aol.com .
The gallery is located at 151 Front St.; its entrance is to the left of the building. The gallery will be open Saturdays from noon 5 and by appointment or by chance.
