Artists and Artisans Invited to Apply Pittsfield - A “Call to Artists” has been issued to fine artists and artisans interested in exhibiting in the 4th Annual Pittsfield Art Show, to be held July 19-20, 2008, under the tents in downtown Pittsfield.
This year, approximately 75 participants will be invited to exhibit in this popular event, which has been growing in both attendance and number of exhibitors each year.
Applications and information may be downloaded from the Pittsfield Art Show website – www.pittsfieldartshow.org. The printed prospectus and application will also be available at the Lichtenstein Center, 28 Renne Avenue, and the Berkshire Athenaeum, or by mail from Downtown Inc., 413-443-6501.
Completed applications with photos of representative work must be postmarked by April 1, 2008 in order to be considered. Photos will be juried during April, and all applicants will be notified the first week of May.
Besides paintings in all mediums, last year’s show included jewelry, ceramics, and pottery from artists from six states in the Northeast. Also on display were pressed flowers, bookbinding and woodworking, sculpture, glass art, printmaking, collage and fabric art.
Legacy Banks Foundation is again the underwriting sponsor of the Pittsfield Art Show. Pittsfield Art Show is a combined project of the City of Pittsfield’s Artscape Committee and Office of Cultural Development, Downtown, Inc., and the Berkshire Art Association. Co-chairs are Carolyn Koch and Mary Rentz. |
