Berkshire Community College, in collaboration with Barrington Stage Company, will offer a KidsAct! youth program this spring, to be held on main campus in Pittsfield.
KidsAct! is a theatre program for children ages 8 to 15. Participants work in an atmosphere designed not only to teach acting skills, but develop self-esteem and awaken each child’s creativity. Theatre professionals work with students on improvisational skills, theatre games, character studies, monologue and scene work, and movement.
The program concludes with a performance of an original play conceived, written and performed by the participants. While this program is tuition-based, Barrington Stage Company offers a need-based partial scholarship program to make sure that the program is accessible to all interested children.
Classes will be held on Saturday mornings, from 10 to noon, beginning March 1 and ending April 19. The cost is $200.

Juneteenth Celebration

March to the park starts at City Hall, followed by music, dance, food, history and more hosted by NAACP Berkshires. The event is free and open to everyone.
The Revival House on Commercial Street is hosting chef Xavier Jones for a popup restaurant on Fridays and Saturdays in June. Limited menu; $5 reservation includes beverage.
In conversation with Sara Houghteling, Pulitzer Prize-winner Stacy Schiff will explore the origins of the American Revolution as detailed in her latest work, "The Revolutionary: Samuel Adams," for whom the town is named. Schiff is an Adams native and Williams College graduate.
