Youth Talent Show Planned in Pittsfield

- March 04, 2008

PITTSFIELD – The Pittsfield Youth Commission and Youth Alive Step Dance and Drum Line are coming together to host a talent show on Friday, March 7, beginning at 7 p.m. at Barrington Stage Company.

The show includes talents ranging from a young rapper to a pop-and-lock dancer to acoustic guitar players to singers. The show is designed to highlight what Berkshire County is all about: promoting creativity, diversity and an individual's artistic expression.

Both groups hope to make the show fun and energetic with positive energy to embrace all of the young people in the community. Thanks to Berkshire Bank and Greylock Federal Credit Union, it will be held at Barrington Stage Company, a sure place for young talent to show their star power.

Tickets are $3 and the proceeds will go to future Youth Commission and Youth Alive programs and events. They can be purchased at the door, or in advance through commission members at local high schools or by contacting Cassandra Ynocencio.

Prizes for the talent show winners and audience raffles are provided by Best Buy, Burger, House of India, Joanne’s Luncheonette, WorkShopLive, Sante Day Spa, The Pittsfield Airport, Wood Brothers Music, Bisque, Beads and Beyond, and Blue Q.

The performers will also get the chance to perform on the stage at Spice on May 1.
