Community Chest Seeks Names for Volunteer of Year

- March 18, 2008

WILLIAMSTOWN — The Williamstown Community Chest seeks nominations for its Volunteer of the Year Award, to be presented at the Chest's annual meeting on May 15 at the Williams Inn.

As an organization that depends on volunteers to carry out its mission of raising and distributing funds to support local charitable organizations providing services to those in need, the Chest wishes to recognize the importance of volunteer efforts throughout the community.

Since 1985, the Community Chest has presented an annual award honoring a member or members of the community for exceptional service as a volunteer. The nomination process is open to the public and members of the community are invited to submit names of persons whose volunteer efforts have made this a better place in which to live and work.

Nominations for the award should include the name of the proposed recipient and examples of his/her volunteer service with dates, if possible. A contact name for additional information should also be included.

Nominations should be sent by Friday, March 28, to Selection Committee, Williamstown Community Chest, P.O. Box 204, Williamstown, MA 01267. Nominations can also be dropped off at the office at 86 Spring St. or sent to info@WilliamstownCommunityChest.org. For more information, contact Executive Director Anne Singleton at 413-458-2443 or visit  www.WilliamstownCommunityChest.org.
