BCC Players to Present Annual ‘Short Play Festival’

Print Story | Email Story
The BCC Players will once again present their annual “Short Play Festival” on April 17, 18, and 19 at 7:30pm; and April 20 at 2:30pm, in the Robert Boland Theatre of the Koussevitzky Arts Center at Berkshire Community College.

The series of short, one-act plays is filled with original and established works designed to make the audience “laugh, cry and contemplate the world in new and wonderful ways.” The festival serves as a showcase for BCC’s fine arts students to hone their theatrical skills and show off their mastery of the craft.

The weekend will consist of seven one-act plays that are directed, designed and performed entirely by BCC students. Four of the one-act plays were written by the students.

The plays presented in this unique production include “Front Desk” written and directed by Gary Cannon; “Ham Sammiches” written and directed by Alex Hurst; “Text Message Tragedy” written and directed by Kim Gritman; “The Fourth Wall” directed by Jessica Carty; “Little Red Riding Hood” directed by Joseph Sicotte; “Nightswim” directed by Mike O’Brien; and “Jam of Ages” co-written and co-directed by Gary Cannon and Alex Hurst.

Tickets for the performances may be reserved by calling the BCC Players Box Office at 413-499-0886. All tickets are $5 general admission.

For more information, call Mike O’Brien at 413-499-4660, Ext 4701.
