Humane Society Benefit Slated at Colonial

- April 14, 2008

PITTSFIELD — The Berkshire Humane Society will present a night of musical memories and comedy skits by the musical group Memory Lane at the Colonial theater on Friday, May 9, at 7:30 p.m.

"The performance is called 'Cats and Dogs Reign on Memory Lane,'" said show director Elayna Collias. "It is a delightful journey filled with musical memories by performers of all ages  and sure to amuse the entire family."

Proceeds will benefit the Humane Society's homeless animals and community programs.

Tickets can be purchased at the Colonial box office: 413-997- 4444 or www.thecolonialtheather.org. The prices are $15 and $21.

Helping animals and people since 1992, the Berkshire Humane Society offers free educational programs for area school children, a pet-food bank for economically distressed pet owners, and also works with The Elizabeth Freeman Center to provide foster care assistance for the pets of women in crisis.

BHS receives no public funding and relies on memberships and donations to continue to help animals and people. In 2007, BHS placed 784 homeless animals . The shelter is open Tuesday through Saturday 10 to 4, Thursday evenings 5 to 8, and Sundays 1 to 4. For more information: 413-447-7878 or www.berkshirehumane.org.
