Berkshire's Best Poets To Celebrate Poetry Month

In celebration of Poetry Month the Berkshire Writers Room will sponsor some of Berkshire's Best poets... at a poetry reading, Sunday, April 27th from 2-4PM at Dotti's Coffee Lounge, 444 North Street in Pittsfield.

Join poet Richard Way, winner of Readers' Choice Award and Best Visual Artist-2005; Maris Nichols, whose work has appeared in Mademoiselle Magazine, The Alaska Quarterly Review, Stuff Magazine, Art New England and The Boston Globe just to name a few; BCC's own Liz Recko-Morrison, Testing Coordinator and GED Chief Examiner, also, Secretary of the BWR Board of Directors; Cassandra Ynocencio, past member of the Black Poet Society while at Michigan State University where she earned a B.A. in English; Bernard Avalle, a member of Town Players of Pittsfield; Matt McFadden, a recent transplant to the Berkshires, his poems are published in Pathways: A Journal of Literature & Art; Helen Wassell who has worked in the media field for 20+ years and has lived in the Berkshires for the last 8 years; and finally Ryc Ward, a songwriter who loves to write and came to the Berkshires for a better life.

The reading is part of Pittsfield Poetry Week, running Tuesday, April 22 through Wednesday, April 30. Eight days of poetry events at the Ferrin Gallery, Lichtenstein Center for the Arts, the Berkshire Atheneaum, Dotti’s Coffee Lounge and other venues scheduled in honor of April being National Poetry Month.
