WILLIAMSTOWN — The Williams College Department of Music will present a senior recital featuring Hanna Na on violin on Thursday, May 1, at 4 p.m. in Brooks-Rogers Recital Hall on the campus. The free event is open to the public.
Na will be playing Bach's Partita for Violin in D Minor, Beethoven's Sonata in G Major, Franck's Sonata in A Major, and Gluck's Melodie by Kreisler. She will be accompanied by Doris Stevenson on the piano.
A native of Korea, Na came to the United States at the age of 15 to study with professor Masao Kawasaki and the late Dorothy Delay at the Juilliard Pre-College in New York City. She studies with Joanna Kurkowicz at Williams.
She has appeared as a soloist with a number of orchestras including twice with the Berkshire Symphony Orchestra as a winner of the Student Soloist Competition. Also a winner of South Mountain Association Award, she has been an assistant concertmaster of the Berkshire Symphony for four years.
