Drivers Needed for Berkshire County Red Cross - April 18, 2008
PITTSFIELD - Volunteer drivers make the Medical Transportation Service of the Berkshire County Chapter of the American Red Cross possible.
Some volunteers drive every week, while others drive less frequently. Some of the chapter's drivers like to stay within the county while others prefer the longer trips to Springfield, Worcester or Boston. All trips are for medical necessities such as dialysis treatment, chemotherapy, radiation, and outpatient treatment.
The Red Cross is seeking volunteers interested in people and with a desire to help those without their own means of transportation. Volunteers must have a valid driver's license and good driving record and pass a standard first aid/cardiopulmonary resuscitation course, which is provided at Red Cross expense.
Contact Dick Stockwell at 413-442-1506 if interested in helping to provide this important service. |
