New Addition To The Mahaiwe Team

- May 12, 2008

Amy Demarest
Beryl Jolly, Executive Director of The Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center, has appointed Amy Demarest as the Mahaiwe’s first Director of Individual Giving. Ms. Demarest comes to the position directly from her role of Marketing and Membership Manager at the Berkshire Co-op Market.

Ms. Demarest brings to the Mahaiwe her background, experience and enthusiasm in development, marketing, and community relations from her previous work with the Co-op, as well as with Fairview Hospital, the Hancock Shaker Village and Berkshire South Regional Community Center. Ms. Demarest has also volunteered for the Great Barrington Rudolf Steiner School, where her daughter is a student, as well as for a grassroots lobbying effort in New York State.

“We are delighted that Amy has joined the Mahaiwe team”, noted Jolly. “She shares our staff’s great enthusiasm for the arts, movies and our Berkshire community. Donations from individuals are an essential element of our financial success, and I’m so glad that Friends of the Mahaiwe will now have Amy to welcome them as one of our ambassadors at performances, in addition to being able to reach Kathleen Richards, our Development Associate at our main office. To contact Amy and Kathleen, phone the Administrative Offices at 413-644-9040.”

Ms. Demarest looks forward to increasing awareness and excitement about the Mahaiwe’s world-class, year-round programming in the community, both to our tri-state residents and to visitors to our area, as well as providing support to the Mahaiwe through increased Friends of the Mahaiwe membership.

Individuals interested in joining Friends of the Mahaiwe may reach Amy Demarest, Director of Individual Giving, at 413.644.9040 x106, or email her at amy@mahaiwe.org. Information on the Mahaiwe’s year-round schedule and Friends levels is available at www.mahaiwe.org.
