More Snow
The Berkshires received several inches of snow this morning, but not enough to close schools, unlike yesterday's sleety mess. Temperatures will drop into the 20s this afternoon. A few more snow showers are expected through the weekend.
We have reports that the roads are very slippery to take care in the evening commute. |
Duff'em If You've Got'em
North Adams Regional Hospital went smoke-free Monday — so did all its sister sites, from Sweet Brook to Northern Berkshire Family Practice to the Women's Exchange. No ashtrays, no smoking: No butts about it. |

Kittens At the Sonsini Animal Shelter - May 19, 2008
Pittsfield - At the Sonsini Animal Shelter in Pittsfield, it has been raining kittens all Spring. Now we're truly awash in the cute little felines, with many litters of beautiful kittens tucked safely away in foster care, awaiting adoption.
So if you have been looking for a kitten, or even thinking about a kitten, now is your time. Call the shelter at 448-9800, e-mail us at sonsinianimalshelter@verizon.net, or pick up an adoption application at 63 Downing Parkway (at the end of Downing Four), off Hubbard Avenue. These babies are spayed /nuetered, vaccinated, and well socialized, prior to adoption.
To meet the kittens that are available, you can also visit one of the satellite adoption clinics we hold at Roxwell Pets in the Allendale Shopping Center. A clinic is scheduled for Saturday May 24, from 10 am to 2 pm; call 448-9800 to find out about future clinics.
Last but not least: if you can't adopt a kitty permanently, but have the desire and ability to be a short-term foster parent, please call the shelter at 448-9800 for details on becoming a foster home. You can also email inquiries to Ellen, at ellenhins@aol.com. |
