Local Jazz Singer And Pianist Visit EPOCH - June 02, 2008
PITTSFIELD — Kathryn Yudkin, a Berkshires resident, is a retro-style jazz singer who creates a relaxed and easy mood with well-loved and familiar songs from the Swing Era. She and pianist Ben Kohn of The Allen Livermore Trio will entertain residents and guests at EPOCH Assisted Living at Melbourne on Friday, June 13, at 3 p.m. with songs from the Great American Songbook, which remains the central repertoire of jazz musicians.
Yudkin sings just about anything, but jazz standards such as those by Louis Armstrong, Benny Goodman and Duke Ellington are among her favorites. Along with jazz standards, Yudkin’s vocal talents include classical music. She has performed with the Berkshire Bach Society, the Cantinella Chamber Choir and the Berkshire Lyric Theatre.
This enthusiastic performance is free and open to the public. Please call 413-499-1992 for more information or to request a reservation. EPOCH is located at 140 Melbourne Road. |
