Poker Tournament to Benefit Babe Ruth World Series Event

09:42AM / Friday, June 06, 2008

Pittsfield - Pittsfield Girls Softball Inc. will be holding a charity poker tournament on June 27 at Mazzeo's Ristorante in Pittsfield. Proceeds will be used to help bring the Babe Ruth World Series, Girls Softball 16 and under, to Pittsfield later this summer. The Babe Ruth World Series will attract the top teams in that division from across the country. The series will be held at Doyle Memorial Park on Benedict Road during the first week of August.

Berkshire Poker will conduct the poker tournament in accordance with both the Commonwealth's charity poker guidelines and the rules set down by the Tournament Directors Association. Doors will open at 5:30 at Mazzeo's Ristorante on Winter Street in Pittsfield. A buffet dinner will be served at 6:00. The poker tournament will begin at 7:00. The buy-in for the event will be $110, which includes the dinner buffet. The poker tournament will be No-Limit Hold'em. Players will each start with 4,000 chips and play will continue until one player has won all the chips, or until five hours of playing time has elapsed. First place will receive a $2,500 prize, paid in Visa Gift Cards that are redeemable anywhere that credit cards are accepted. Additional top finishers will also receive prizes.

Pre-registration is strongly recommended. To reserve a seat with cash, check or credit card contact Karen Belland at Reynold's Team Sports at 442-5558 or reynoldsteam@verizon.net. There is a $50 minimum to pre-register, with the balance due at door. Additional information is available at http://www.berkshirepoker.net. Any one interested in being a volunteer dealer for this event should contact bob@berkshirepoker.net.
