Dukes Game Postponed; July 4th Game Features Fireworks

By Michael Radomski - July 03, 2008
Pittsfield Dukes

PITTSFIELD — The Pittsfield Dukes game against the visiting first-place Torrington (Conn.) Twisters was postponed Thursday. No makeup date has been announced but tickets for Thursday's game can be used at any other Dukes home game, except the July 4 game tomorrow evening.

The Pittsfield Dukes will host the Manchester (Conn.) Silkworms Friday night in the annual July 4th game at Wahconah Park. Gates will open at 4:45 and the Dukes-Silkworms game is scheduled for 6:30. Following the game, fans will be treated to a fireworks show sponsored by Berkshire Bank. About 20 minutes after the conclusion of the game, the lights will go off and the fireworks show will begin. General admission seats are still available.

July 5th will also have a fireworks show after the game. Gates will open at 5:15 as the Dukes host the Gulls beginning at 7 o'clock. Twenty minutes after the conclusion of the game, fans will once again be treated to a fireworks show. The Dan Duquette Sports Academy will sponsor the fireworks extravaganza and box seats and general admission seats are still available.

And finally, on July 6, the Dukes will host the Dominican Republic All-Star team beginning at 5 o'clock. Gates will open at 3:30 and the game is sponsored by Greylock Federal Credit Union. Box seats and general admission seats are still available.

For tickets, fans can go to the box office at 105 Wahconah St. or call 413-447-DUKE (3853) for information on the July 4 fireworks weekend and ticket availability.
