PITTSFIELD – A ribbon cutting ceremony attended by Albany Mayor Gerald Jennings marked the official grand opening of Legacy Banks’ newest location at 39 North Pearl Street, Albany. Headquartered in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, Legacy Banks now operates 17 offices in Berkshire County and Eastern New York.
This is Legacy’s first entrance into the Capital District of New York, according to J. Williar Dunlaevy, Chairman and CEO. “As an organization that helps people bank smarter and live easier, I am pleased to bring our community banking philosophy to North Pearl Street,” he commented. “This new office is in the perfect location for us to help meet the financial needs of the many professionals in downtown Albany.” Pamela Tobin, executive director of the Downtown Albany BID expressed her pleasure in Legacy’s selection of downtown for its first Capital District Office saying, “For banking in the Capital Region, easy access to clients, contacts and capital happens in the hub of Downtown Albany. Legacy Banks’ decision to be in the District is a testament to the strength of our financial institutions.”
With hours of operation from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, the Albany branch features a customer-friendly design with a plasma screen television for customers to enjoy while waiting for an appointment. Senior Vice President of Branch Administration Angela Motler expressed her appreciation for all those who helped transform the 1,500 square foot facility from a previous sandwich shop to Legacy’s newest branch location. “This beautiful new office is the result of a lot of hard work on the part of many different people.
