Girls Summer Program Expanded and Special Offer

10:10AM / Thursday, July 17, 2008

LENOX — Ventfort Hall Mansion and Gilded Age Museum (www.GildedAge.org) today announced that along with expanding their 2008 American Girl® summer sessions by an extra week this year, they will also offer participants an option to “Bring a Sister” at half price or to sign up for remaining weeks at half-price. The summer sessions run Mondays through Fridays and are available in week-long full-day or half-day sessions through the week of August 11th. Single day sessions may also be available dependent upon space limitations.

“Our American Girl program has continued to grow in a number of ways over the years and the kids just love it!” said Jeffrey Folmer, Executive Director at Ventfort Hall. “This year we have a new Coordinator, Theresa Grieger of North Adams who has been doing a terrific job with this very unique series. Now, with the expanded program, we’re delighted to be able to give families more economical options.”

The program teaches girls about U.S. and European history in a fun and engaging way while fostering a love of history and building a sense of community through projects, crafts, cooking, games, friendship activities, and more.

The American Girl sessions are limited to 24 girls (ages 7-12.) Girls are encouraged to bring their dolls and parents are welcome to stay. All sessions include supplies and snacks (full-day girls should bring a prepared lunch.) Each session will conclude with a Friday family picnic and Victorian Tea prepared by the girls.

Regular registration fees are $135 for half-day, $225 for full-day and $60 for single full days (dependent upon space availability). The half-price option is available for additional weeks, or for any age-eligible siblings of any registered girls in the “Bring a Sister” special (both dependent upon space availability). The remaining sessions are: July 21-25, August 4-8 and August 11-15. Pre-registration is required and can be made by calling Ventfort Hall at 413-637-3206. Payment is due at time of registration via MasterCard, Visa, check or cash.

In addition to their American Girl® summer sessions, Ventfort Hall’s Museum Shop carries the largest selection of American Girl merchandise in the area. Offering books, puzzles, card games, crafts and more.
