More Snow
The Berkshires received several inches of snow this morning, but not enough to close schools, unlike yesterday's sleety mess. Temperatures will drop into the 20s this afternoon. A few more snow showers are expected through the weekend.
We have reports that the roads are very slippery to take care in the evening commute. |

Victor Hill will open the 41st season of his series of Griffin Hall Concerts - September 04, 2008
WILLIAMSTOWN - Harpsichordist Victor Hill will open the 41st season of his series of Griffin Hall Concerts at Williams College with an all-Bach recital on Sunday, September 28, at 3 pm, at the Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute. Admission to the concert is free.
The program will be Part Two of the collection Bach entitled Clavierübung (Keyboard Practice). It consists of the "French Overture," a suite sometimes called the "Partita in B minor," and the "Italian Concerto," a favorite of harpsichordists and audiences. In addition, Hill will play two of the concerti by Italian composers that Bach arranged for solo harpsichord before he turned to writing his own Italian concerto.
Hill is the Thomas T. Read Professor of Mathematics, Emeritus, at Williams College. He studied in Amsterdam with the eminent Dutch harpsichordist Gustav Leonhardt, and has played more than 900 concerts throughout the United States and in Europe.
The Clark is located at 225 South Street in Williamstown. The galleries are open Tuesday through Sunday from 10 am to 5 pm (daily in July and August). Admission is free November 1 through May 31. Admission June 1 through October 31 is $12.50 for adults, free for children 18 and younger, members, and students with valid ID. For more information, call 413-458-2303 or visit www.clarkart.edu. |
