PITTSFIELD – The Pittsfield Municipal Airport Commission is hosting the Collings Foundation Wings of Freedom Tour featuring Rare WWII bombers and fighter.
These aircraft will fly in to Pittsfield on October 1st at approximately 2:00pm and will stay on display until they depart on October 3rd at noon. There will be ground tours of these aircraft to explore the aircraft inside and out when they’re on static display for donations of $12 ($6 for children under 12) as well as 30 minute flight experiences for donations ranging from $325 to $2,200 depending on aircraft and seat.

Pittsfield Community Television will be on sight October 1st to tape that days fly in and event which will be televised at a later date on Time Warner channel 16.
Aircraft on display will be a B-17 Flying Fortress bomber, B-24 Liberator bomber, B-25 Mitchell bomber, and a P-51 Mustang fighter. This display of aircraft is a tribute to the men and women who built, flew, and maintained them to help preserve our freedom.

In conversation with Sara Houghteling, Pulitzer Prize-winner Stacy Schiff will explore the origins of the American Revolution as detailed in her latest work, "The Revolutionary: Samuel Adams," for whom the town is named. Schiff is an Adams native and Williams College graduate.
