- October 09, 2008

Pittsfield - Barrington Stage Company, under the leadership of Artistic Director Julianne Boyd and Producing Director Richard M. Parison Jr., announces open Equity auditions for men “This Wonderful Life”

Auditions will held on Saturday, October 18th from 10:00am – 6:00pm at BSC’s Stage 2 at the VFW Hall, 36 Linden Street in Pittsfield.

This Wonderful Life is a one-man stage adaptation of It’s a Wonderful Life. Join George Bailey, Clarence the Angel, Old Man Potter, Mary and ZuZu Bailey and 20 more of Bedford Falls’ finest citizens in this unique theatrical twist on Frank Capra’s timeless film. Bursting with hope and humor, wry observation and heartfelt homage, This Wonderful Life reminds us of the power of friendship and family…the perfect holiday gift.

Men in their late 30’s will be seen for the role of Narrator described as tallish, with an All-American feeling about him. He must have a great facility with good mimicry skills (Jimmy Stewart is a must), and a love for the movie It's A Wonderful Life. He should look as if he is a family man, a great comic sense and good physical comedian with an ability to show joy and despair but not be maudlin. All are invited to audition. Those auditioning should bring a headshot and resume, and be prepared to read from sides provided at the audition.

Rehearsals will begin November 18, 2008 and performances will run December 3 through 20.

Performers must commit to the rehearsal schedule (Tuesday through Sunday -- Rehearsals will held during daytime hours and perhaps some evening hours) and performance schedule (Wednesday through Sunday, October 3 through 20). This Wonderful Life will be directed by Andrew Volkoff.

To schedule an audition appointment call BSC Office Manager, Katie Johnson, at 413-499-5446 ext. 100.
