LENOX, Mass - The Lenox Library will present the third program in its 2008-09 Distinguished Lecture Series featuring local playwright and author Joan Ackerman discussing the creative adaptation of written work “From Page to Stage to Screen” on Sunday, November 23rd at 4:00 pm at the Lenox Library.
Playwright, actress, and screenwriter Joan Ackerman is a prolific and successful author. Over a dozen of her plays have been published and produced around the country, and her adaptation of her play “Off the Map” was released as a feature film. Shakespeare and Company produced her play “Ice Glen” recently. Joan is the co founder and Artistic Director of Mixed Company, a twenty-five-year-old theater in Great Barrington, Massachusetts. For seven years she was a special contributor to Sports Illustrated, and her writing has appeared in several other national magazines, including Time, The Atlantic Monthly, and Esquire.
