STAMFORD, Vt. — We expect bird feeders to draw plenty of winged creatures — and the requisite squirrels — but these were the biggest birds we've seen yet.
A gaggle of wild turkeys was picking up leftovers spilled from a bird feeder in a tree in the back yard of this Vermont home. The one pictured at right was the lookout. The nearly dozen fat gobblers feasted on the spillage for about a half hour — and came back for more.
