Berkshire Music School Presents Free Family Program at Berkshire Athenaeum

The sounds of violins and young voices will fill the Berkshire Athenaeum’s auditorium Saturday, December 13 at 1 p.m. during a free family program. Students from Berkshire Music School will provide the entertainment with “Bing’s Strings, Too”, “KinderChoir” I & II and the BMS Youth Choir. Berkshire Athenaeum is located at 1 Wendell Avenue, Pittsfield.

“Bing’s Strings, Too” will present a variety of tunes, ranging from “Boiled Cabbage”, and “Red Haired Boy” to “Soldiers Joy”. Performers include: Noah Beckwith, Lila Berle, Hannah Chopelas, Cali Cybulski, Harry and Tommy Flynn, Michela and Soilel Laurin, Julian Lindenmarid, Lauren Stone, Kevin Tu, Erika Wainwright, Molly Willson, and Khaki Zabian.

“KinderChoir” I & II and the BMS Youth Choir, under the direction of Carolina Carry, will introduce a sampler of songs from class. They include nursery rhymes, a Native American lullaby, a Canadian carol, an American skipping song, a traditional Jewish piece, and others. “KinderChoir” I members are: Lucy Garrison, Daniel Gogan, Tobias Goodman, Cecilia Kittross, Fiona Mathews, Olivia McKeon, Grace Papkey, and Kelley Tu. “KinderChoir” II members include: Miriam Berle, Jordan Bradford, Erin Brisebois, Madeline Coco, Katherine Nichols, Patrick Rindfuss, and Mia Sanchez. The BMS Youth Choir is comprised of: Chloe Boehm, Artem Dudko, Michela Laurin, Alexis Mazzeo-Williams, Alexandra Mitchell, and Kaylee Satatino.

Bing Liu joined the Berkshire Music School in 2001. Specialties include viola, violin and Suzuki Violin. Bing studied in China at the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing. She came to America for the Master’s degree program in Viola Performance at Boston University and is now in the Artist Diploma program at Boston Conservatory. Bing enjoys an active solo and orchestral career, performing in the United States and China.

Instructor Carolina Carry leads the Berkshire Music School’s KinderChoir I & II, and the BMS Youth Choir. An experienced educator in acting and music for children, she has been a BMS faculty member since 2005.
