Berkshire Bank Announces 2nd Contest Winner

01:20PM / Friday, December 19, 2008

PITTSFIELD, Mass. - Little did Debra and Kent Kulas of Chicopee know when they arrived at Berkshire Bank, America’s Most Exciting Bank sm on Thursday, December 18 that they would be $10,000 richer by the end of the day.

Debra and Kent Kulas were randomly selected as the second of three winners in Berkshire Bank’s “America’s Most Exciting Bank” Great 30K CA$H Giveaway. The cash prizes are part of another Exciting Promotion to say thank you to the Bank’s customers with three chances to win $10,000. Joseph Wright of Great Barrington, Massachusetts was the first winner selected in August, 2008. The last drawings will take place in February 2009 and will include all entries submitted from the contest’s beginning.

The promotion, which began in June 2008, will end on December 31, 2008. Consumers are encouraged to open and activate a Line of Credit loan and automatically be eligible to win the last remaining $10,000 cash prizes. The last drawings will take place in February 2009 and will include all entries submitted from the contest’s beginning.

The odds of winning are based on the number of entries received, but for Debra and Kent  Kulas, Thursday, December 18 was their lucky day. The Kulas’s were greeted by Valerie Urban, Berkshire Bank branch manager who helped open the account. Surrounded by customers and the Bank’s employees, the Kulas’s were presented with an oversized check by Kim Riggs Halusic, Michael Mirski and Heather Bartini, vice presidents and regional branch managers and James Sherbo 1st vice president of retail lending of Berkshire Bank. Commenting on the award, Sherbo stated, “It was so exciting to see them when we walked through the door. They had no idea they were the winners and were shocked when presented with the check. It’s an Exciting feeling to see someone have that kind of good luck and a great way for us to give back to our valued customers. ”

Berkshire Bank kicked off The Great 30K CA$H Giveaway Equity Loan promotion in which people can enter to win one of three $10,000 cash giveaways.
