Berkshire humane Society events at Regal Cinema12:09PM / Friday, January 09, 2009
The Berkshire Humane Society will have a special Dog Adoption Event in the lobby of the Regal Cinema at the Berkshire Mall in Lanesboro on Saturday & Sunday January 16th & 17th as part of the premier of the new movie, “Hotel for Dogs”.
BHS adoption counselors will be on-hand with dogs from the shelter that are available for adoption. This is to celebrate the premiere of “Hotel for Dogs” and to showcase the importance of the adoption option of a new pet instead of on line purchasing or puppy mills pets from shops. “The movie will also empower children to help animals in their community”, says John Perreault, Executive Director of the Berkshire Humane Society in Pittsfield.
Members of the Berkshire Humane Board of Directors will be assisting at the information booth that will be displayed from Friday through Monday in front of the cinema at the food court entrance. Brochures on the programs available at the Berkshire Humane Society, including Family Dog School, SafePet foster care, Community Pet food banks and the Children’s Camp Programs.
BHS & the Berkshire Mall will also be conducting a Pet-Food drive that weekend. The collected Pet food will be distributed throughout the BHS Pet Food Pantries located in N. Adams, Adams, Dalton, Gt. Barrington and Sheffield, along with the food bank at the shelter on 214 Barker Rd. in Pittsfield. |
