Legacy Opens New Office in Latham

04:07PM / Thursday, January 15, 2009

PITTSFIELD, Mass. – Legacy Banks, headquartered in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, today marked the official opening of its new full-service branch office location at 545 Troy-Schenectady Road, Latham, New York. This latest addition brings Legacy’s branch network to 18 locations – 11 in Berkshire County and seven throughout in Eastern New York.

Several individuals involved in the process of opening the new office attended the ribbon cutting, and remarks were made by Legacy Chairman and CEO J. Williar Dunlaevy, Senior Vice President Angela Motler, Peter Gannon, director of operations for the Town of Colonie, and Thomas Nolte, executive director of the Colonie Chamber of Commerce.

Wesley Slyke recently joined Legacy as Branch Manager to oversee operations of the new Latham Office. According to Motler, Slyke will work with his branch team to expand customer relationships in the Latham/Colonie region. “We are thrilled to be bringing added convenience to our customers by opening this beautiful new office in Latham,” she said. “We are just as pleased to welcome Wesley and his outstanding staff. As a team, they will work to continue our tradition of community banking and outstanding customer service to the residents and businesses of Latham/Colonie.”

Slyke comes to Legacy from Mass Mutual Financial Group where he served as a financial services professional, a capacity in which he provided clients various forms of investment and insurance products. He holds a B.A. and M.A. from S.U.N.Y. Albany and currently serves as a member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors as well as the Capital Alliance of Young Professionals and the Colonie Chamber of Commerce.

With expanded hours, the Latham office will operate Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursday and Friday 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. The office features a customer-friendly design, including a customer convenience center with coin counting machine, shredder, and coffee bar as well as a plasma screen television for customers to enjoy while waiting for an appointment. The new office also utilizes bio-metric, self-service safe deposit boxes, which allow customers to access their safe deposit boxes without assistance from branch staff.

Headquartered in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, Legacy Banks offers personal banking, including their newly developed Smart Banking Relationship Program and Mortgage Lending, as well as Commercial Services, Insurance, Investments, Portfolio Management, and Online Services.

Legacy employs 192 people and operates 18 offices throughout Berkshire County, Massachusetts and eastern New York, as well as a Loan Production Office in Colonie, New York. Those interested in learning more, may call Legacy at 800-292-6634 or visit www.LegacyBanks.com.
