Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Joins Medical Associates

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Emily Bisson, a certified pediatric nurse practitioner, has joined Williamstown Medical Associates' North Adams office.

Bisson will practice as a member of the pediatric team, working with Drs. Childsy Art, Kathryn Wiseman and Thomas Hyde.

After graduating from Bates College, Bisson earned her master's degree in nursing from Yale University School of Nursing. She most recently worked at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and has clinical experience at the Pediatric Primary Care Center and the Newborn Nursery at Yale-New Haven (Conn.) Hospital and at Children’s Medical Group in Hamden, Conn. Ms. Bisson has a special interest in caring for children with chronic health conditions.

Bisson will provide well-child care, chronic illness management and same-day office visits for WMA pediatric patients with acute illnesses.

A pediatric nurse practitioner is a registered nurse with advanced academic and clinical education in pediatric health care, pharmacology, child development, and family dynamics. They work in collaboration with physicians as well as other health and social service professionals. They can provide a wide range of high-quality, cost-effective primary and specialty-care services for children from birth through young adulthood.

Mystic, Conn., Rolls Past SteepleCats

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Camden Righi went 3-for-5 with a double Tuesday to lead the Mystic Schooners (5-1) to a 12-2 win over the North Adams SteepleCats in New England Collegiate Baseball action at Joe Wolfe Field.
 
Parker Camelo was 2-for-3 at the plate for North Adams, which scored both its runs in the bottom of the ninth.
 
North Adams used six pitchers in the loss. James Morr and Joe LaPrade each provided an inning of no-hit relief.
 
The SteepleCats (0-3) are at Martha's Vineyard on Wednesday night.
