PITTSFIELD, Mass. — The Berkshire Chamber of Commerce will host the first Good News Business Salute of 2009 on Wednesday, February 25. This breakfast event will be held at the Crowne Plaza Pittsfield~Berkshires located on West Street in Pittsfield from 7:45 – 9:00 AM. The cost to attend is $20 for Berkshire Chamber members and $28 for non-members and includes a breakfast buffet. This event will be sponsored by Berkshire Bank.
The Berkshire Chamber’s Good News Business Salute Breakfast seeks to showcase "good news" in the Berkshires to create a positive environment for business while promoting quality jobs and celebrating the spirit of success. February’s “good news” salutees include Blass Communications, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Berkshire County, Downtown Inc., Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center, and Norman Rockwell Museum.
David E. Phelps, president and CEO of Berkshire Health Systems, will provide the keynote address to members of the Berkshire business community. Berkshire Health Systems is the primary provider of healthcare services in Berkshire County. Its affiliates include Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield and Fairview Hospital in Great Barrington. A long-term care associate of Berkshire Health Systems, Berkshire Health Care Systems operates nursing and rehabilitative care facilities throughout the Berkshires, including Mt.
