Alzheimer’s support group meets at EPOCH
PITTSFIELD, Mass. — An Alzheimer’s Support Group will meet on Wednesday, March 18, from 7 to 8:30 p.m., at EPOCH Assisted Living at Melbourne, located at 140 Melbourne Road. This group meets the third Wednesday of each month and is open to families, friends and caregivers of individuals with Alzheimer’s and other memory-related issues.
It is important that caregivers seek the support of others and recharge their batteries. The support group is a place to offer and receive advice, tell stories and spend time with others facing similar challenges. The group is facilitated by social worker Beth Hinkley-Mougin. ‘Time Traveling in the Berkshires’ presentation to focus on maple sugaring
PITTSFIELD—Local tour guide Cory Hines will present “Maple Sugaring in the Berkshire Woods,” on Friday, March 20, at 3 p.m., at EPOCH Assisted Living at Melbourne. Hines’ presentation will focus on the winter custom of gathering maple sap, boiling it and celebrating the hard work with a party. This will be the second presentation in Hines’ two-part, “Time Traveling in the Berkshires” lecture series. EPOCH is located at 140 Melbourne Road.
As a tour guide, Hines shares her extensive knowledge of local history with Berkshires visitors and residents. She has been a guide for Greylock Discovery Tours for 15 years and served as a docent at Chesterwood, The Mount and The Trustees of Reservations. She has also presented “300 Years of Human History in the Berkshires” for the BBC Elderhostel.
