PITTSFIELD, Mass. - The results are in! Berkshire Music School students of all ages raised nearly $14,000 during the annual Music Marathon March 28-29. More than 400 donors sponsored students as they played throughout the weekend.
Sandy Moderski, BMS registrar, raised the most funds, followed by Noah Powell, 8 year old son of Pittsfield’s Shauna and David Powell. Sandy and Noah study guitar with David Hodge. Hannah Chopelas, daughter of Jessica Mormann, brought in the highest number of sponsors. She studies violin with Bing Liu.
Several prizes were donated by retailers and community organizations, with corporate underwriting by Greylock Federal Credit Union and Laurin Publishing. Participating students with pledges of $100 or higher will be treated to a choice of parties, pizza or ice cream, at BMS June 13. They will also enjoy a performance by noted singer/song writer David Grover, who recently joined the Berkshire Music School faculty.
