STOCKBRIDGE, Mass. - “The Bar at Harbor Lights” by pastel artist and IS183 faculty member June Parker of Egremont has been accepted for inclusion in two nationally acclaimed art exhibitions this spring.
Parker’s painting was one of the 120 works selected from over 500 entries by the Juror of Selection, Albert Handell for the 74th Annual National Exhibition of the Cooperstown Art Association to be held in July and August. In May of this year, the work was exhibited at The Academic Art Association’s 59th National Exhibit of Contemporary Realism held at the Karen Sprague Cultural Arts Center at The American International College in Springfield.
June has been a faculty artist at IS183 Art School in Stockbridge for the past seven years. This summer “Exploring the Landscape with Pastel: Inside and Out”, will be held on Wednesdays, from July 15 to August 19 from 9:30 to 12:30. The class includes June’s three step process on how to approach a pastel painting. This six week course still has space available and is open to students of all abilities and skill levels.
This summer IS183 Art School offers week-long Art Camps for children ages 5 through 14 in addition to classes and weekend workshops for adults. Space is still available in courses with instruction in ceramics, fiber arts, painting, drawing, and more.
