CHESHIRE, Mass. — The fish were jumping these past weeks as fishing derbies were held for local youth and residents.
On Saturday, June 19, the Adams Outdoorsmen for Youth held its annual derby for children up to age 15 at Reynold's Pond. The water was stocked with rainbow trout — enough for the estimated 100 kids who showed up to cast a hook.
Prizes were awarded in various age groups for catching the largest and smallest fish and 10 lucky anglers won brand-new fishing poles for catching a red-tagged trout.
